Microsoft Support Phone numberwill now send a
notification to Windows 10 v1803 and below users to install the latest update
Last
week we reported that some users are seeing a notification inside
Windows Updates urging them to upgrade to a new version of Windows 10 as the
older ones are reaching End of Life. While Microsoft Support Phone numberis
still struggling with the latest Windows 10 v1903 update, users can upgrade to
Windows 10 v1809 which was released last year.
Now, Microsoft
Support Phone numberhas updated its support document (via Techdows) to
reflect that the company will be sending a notification asking users to upgrade
to a newer version of Windows 10. In the support document, Microsoft Support
Phone numbernoted that users running Windows 10 version 1507, 1511, 1607, 1703,
1709, and 1803 can expect to see a notification telling them to upgrade. Microsoft
Support Phone numberalso noted that version 1507, 1511, 1607 and 1703 are
currently at End of Service so these users will no longer receive security
updates and patches.
The company also noted
that if the users wish to disable the notifications then they could simply
uninstall Update Assistant by running “C:\Windows10Upgrade\Windows10UpgraderApp.exe
/ForceUninstall” command. They can also suppress the notifications by
deleting “C:\Windows\Updateassistant”
and “C:\Windows10upgrade”
folders.
The End of Life for Windows
10 v1809 is May 12, 2020, which will give you a decent amount of time before
you will need to upgrade again. Microsoft Support Phone numberis currently
working on perfecting v1903 so you can hold off going to v1903 for a while by upgrading
to v1809. This will make sure you don’t run into known issues in v1903 and you
will be safe from exploits and vulnerabilities.
