Microsoft Office, the creator of the popular WPS Office app, has launched the WPS Office 2020 suite providing Word, PowerPoint, spreadsheet and PDF file tools. WPS Office 2020 is available online for all mainstream operating systems including Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android. WPS Office directly competes with Microsoft Office 365. Whereas, a big advantage with WPS Office is that all important and in-demand features are available for free. While there are also subscription plans for WPS Office, users are not locked by a paywall to use most features.


With WPS Office, users can access and edit files on mobile as well as on laptops from an account. The experience is similar to using Google Docs, but WPS Office offers advanced features with in-built PDF tools such as PDF editing, Word to PDF converter, PDF sign and more.

As far as the premium version is concerned, membership starts at Rs 299 per month and supports 9 devices including 3 PCs and 6 mobiles with 20 GB of storage. WPS Office files are compatible with the respective Microsoft formats.


With WPS 2020, the parent company - Kingsoft Office - announced its official entry into the Indian market. “WPS Office already has over 23 million monthly active users (MAU) in India, which has been achieved with the help of organic downloads and pre-installation. Also built for the first time for Windows, Android, iOS, Linux, and MacOS, WPS Office 2020 is set to challenge existing office software suites in the market, a one-stop office suite available in both free and premium versions.
